Vision Trek 2008-2009

PDF Brochure and Registration Form                                      Online Registration Form

The Mission: To offer a leadership training experience to lay people who are or who will be leaders in their local congregations and the San Antonio District.

The Vision: To form a team of trained well informed laity capable of assuming a leadership role in their own local churches and in the district. Vision Trek gives each participant the opportunity to learn more about themselves, the church, and how they can better serve through the various ministry areas.

Cost & Covenant
The cost of the entire Vision Trek experience is $150.00.
Our expectation is that each church will make a covenant with Vision Trek participants as to what they will bring back to the
local church in terms of leadership and overall involvement. We pray that each participant will be able to make a significant
impact on his/her own church. Vision Trekkies will be equipped to:
* Lead special seminars in which the Vision Trekker might share his or her learning experiences with interested members of the congregation.
* Lead ongoing Sunday school classes to share knowledge gained through Vision Trek.
* Report regularly to the Church Council those ideas which may be helpful to the church.
* Meet with the pastor and lay leader regularly to help determine vision and future plans.
* Share learning experiences with other church organizations such as United Methodist Women, United Methodist Men, United Methodist Youth, etc.

Who May Apply?
Vision Trek is for both current and future leaders in the local church. Persons from across the San Antonio District are invited and encouraged to become involved in this exciting leadership training program. We ask pastors and lay leaders to identify
prospective applicants in their church. Vision Trek is open to anyone who would like to participate. We seek to be inclusive of the various churches as well as variations in age, sex and ethnic origin.
If you believe this is an opportunity from which you would benefit, please apply. Your application must be signed by your pastor in order for it to be accepted.
We hope YOU will prayerfully consider becoming a part of Vision Trek to learn more about your faith and about the way the United Methodist Church ministers.
The process is limited to 25 participants. Registration will be firstcome, first-served. We request there be no more than three participants per year per church.
